When it comes to hiring a carpet cleaning company the first question most home owners ask is whether or not to go with a wet or dry carpet cleaning solution. There are advantageous to both but to make the most informed decision possible keep these quick points in mind.

1. Fast. Soggy carpets take longer to dry and require planning and preparation to schedule. If you need your Fort Worth carpet cleaned in a reasonable period of time then go with a provider that doesn't leave you walking in soggy socks for the next two days.

2. See Immediate Results. Ever wonder how you are supposed to know if there is a problem or stain remaining before the carpet is even dry? Using a Fort Worth carpet cleaning company that leaves your carpet dry allows you to see immediate results and have stains or other problem areas treated before the technician leaves the house rather than wait for a return visit.

3. Dirt. The longer the carpet is soaking wet the easier it is to track in new dirt or stains. Instead, go with a vendor that leaves your carpets as dry as possible to avoid adding the possibility of tracking in new dirt by mistake.

4. Bacteria and Other Growth. Soggy carpets attract bacteria, mold and spores that can irritate sensitive individuals and cause unpleasant odors. Use a service that provides quick drying service so you can smell how clean and fresh the carpet is before allowing the technicians to leave.

5. Workmanship. Reputable carpet cleaning companies provide more than carpet cleaning services; they commonly provide Fort Worth carpet repair services at the same time. A dry carpet allows you to view the quality of the repair or need for additional repairs while the technician is still working in the home. Poorly performed repairs can lead to wrinkles, discoloration or other problems that are hard to spot in wet carpet.

6. Longer Life. Carpets soaked could be dried, but the keyboard is still much longer wet, damp padding retains more dirt, bacteria and disorder that causes your carpet to look and smell in time. Wet padding reduces the bounce and comfort of the carpet while making it look flat and matted. Avoid compressing the carpet padding by using a Fort Worth carpet cleaning provider that leaves your carpets dry. Kiwi Services is a great example of carpet cleaning and repair that can leave your carpet dry and ready for company in less than an hour!

Kiwi provides Fort worth carpet cleaning services at best prices.

In most cases, we look to hire a good carpet cleaning company because we do not have the time to clean our own carpets. Furthermore, they do a great job at getting rid of stains that a standard cleaner cannot get rid of. Therefore, we find that hiring a cleaning company is our best option. Before we choose just one company, you should know how to choose a good carpet cleaning company.

Before you hire any company, there are several very important questions that you should be asking.

First, do they guarantee their work? You want a company that guarantees their work. If they do not, you can almost be sure that you are not dealing with a reputable business and should take steps to find another one.

Secondly, they agree to any type of association? Carpet reputable and honest cleaning company will probably belong to a kind of association, as PCUCA (Professional Carpet and Upholstery Cleaners Association) or the NCCA (National Carpet Cleaners Association).

Third, you want to ask if they are bonded and insured? You do not want a cleaning company that is not insured or bonded. This could be asking for trouble. If they damage your carpet or furniture you want to be sure that it is covered by their insurance.

Fourth, are they certified and licensed to clean carpets? This means they know what they are doing. They have taken the necessary courses and tests to get their certificates and licenses, therefore, you can trust their knowledge.

Finally, ask them why they think they are better than their competition in the same area? What do they offer? Are they fast? Why do they think they are the company to go with? Knowing this can help you make the best decision for your carpet cleaning needs.

Asking these questions allow you to avoid many problems. If you have heard horror stories, making sure that you take the time to choose the right carpet cleaners is important. This way you can avoid getting a company that doesn't have any idea as to what they are doing. You can also avoid a company that uses the wrong chemicals, saturates the carpet, discolors your carpet, or simply causes a great amount of damage that you do not need and likely cannot afford. Make sure you ask all of these questions before you choose a carpet cleaning company.

Finding the Right Carpet Cleaning Company

Finding the Right Carpet Cleaning Company
Too often unsuspecting consumers who are lured by specials find themselves victims of bait-and-switch advertising. They realize, often too late, that these advertised specials have conditions, either written in small print or not stated at all. They are often told that "certain services" cost extra or that a "special procedure" is required.

Too often unsuspecting consumers who are lured by specials find themselves victims of bait-and-switch advertising. They realize, often too late, that these advertised specials have conditions, either written in small print or not stated at all. They are often told that "certain services" cost extra or that a "special procedure" is required.

Bait-and-switch operators are prevalent in many industries, and the carpet cleaning industry is no exception. But, how do you know who is and who is not?

The professional carpet cleaning industry has several trade associations working on this problem. The largest being the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC), which certify cleaners who meet prescribed levels of technical proficiency and pledge to operate by a "Code of Ethics." Most other industries have similar associations or trade groups, of which the most reputable companies in that industry are members.

To help educate consumers so they will not become victims of fraudulent practices within an industry, trade associations or certifying boards releases a list of guidelines to consider when selecting a professional. Other indicators of professionalism can include potential customers to ask specifically about:

Price - If an advertised price sounds too good to be true - it is! Often a company will advertise a low price to get their foot in the door. Low price usually equates to low quality for any product or service. Legitimate business people have legitimate expenses they must cover, including license, taxes, insurance, employee wages and benefits, and quality tools of the trade.

Quality - Never should the price of a service or product be the sole criterion for selecting that service or product. A price that sounds high may not be a signal of a rip-off, but rather the true cost of quality. In all professions, quality work deserves a quality price.

Truth in Advertising - Read the fine print in advertised specials to find out exactly what the price includes, and request a firm price before the work begins.

Training - Professional firms require employees to engage in formal training in a variety of disciplines specific to their industry, and these educational efforts will be ongoing. Ask about the training background of the technicians who will be performing the work.

Certification - Professional firms require ccertification technicians and craftsmen through formal schooling, the certification organization or an independent training and testing organization. Ask to see their certificate or wallet card.

Experience - The years of experience a firm has, combined with formal training programs, contribute significantly to the proficiency of its employees.

Knowledgeable - Professional firms employ and train technicians who can answer basic questions regarding the product or service at hand.

References - Consumers should ask for references from previous customers as well as inquire the BBB for membership or a record of complaints.

Trade Associations - Professional firms are members of trade associations that promote high ethical standards and continuing education. Look for trade logos in advertising.

Professional Standards - Ask if the service technician if they are operating according to industry standards. Most times these standards are published and available for purchase. Such is the case with professional carpet cleaning.

Method - Ask the service technician which method will be used and the advantages and disadvantages of this method compared to other methods.

No Pressure - Technicians must be courteous and willing to take the time to thoroughly explain the process and answer all questions. You should never feel pressured.

There is no single criterion for selecting a service professional. Several combined factors must be considered in the selection decision. With all of this in mind it is still best to ask a friend or neighbor for a referral to someone they trust.

Dan Burk of Dan's Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning is an IICRC Master Textile Cleaner and Master Restoration Technician. In addition to the IICRC Dan's trade associations are CRI (carpet & rug institute).

It is the goal of Dan's carpet to provide as many if not all of the criteria previously listed to ensure its clients receive the best possible workmanship and professional treatment.

Dan Burk opened Dan's Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning in Edmonton Alberta on February 4th 1994, on the premise that only extraordinary carpet cleaning service would be available to its clients. The primary outlook was to be different than all other carpet cleaning companies, by paying attention to the clients needs.

Should You Hire a Professional Dallas Carpet Cleaning Company?
Should You Hire a Professional Dallas Carpet Cleaning Company?

Are you a homeowner or a business owner in the Dallas area? If so, is your home or office carpeted? If it is, there is a good chance that you may need to have your carpets cleaned. Although carpeted flooring is nice, it can show signs of wear and tear or dirt quicker than hardwood or tiled flooring. If you are in need of having your carpets cleaned, whether those carpets are in your home or in your office, you may be wondering whether or not you should seek professional assistance.

When it comes to carpet cleaning, there are many Dallas homeowners who choose to do their own carpet cleaning. Dallas is home to a number of retail stores that sell carpet cleaners or floor cleaners. Many of these cleaners can be purchased for reasonable prices. While it is nice to be able to clean your own carpets, it is important to remember the work that goes along with doing so. Depending on how much traffic your carpet receives, you may need multiple cleanings a month. Also, depending on the carpet cleaning machine you purchase, that work may be more than what you bargained for.

While a large number of Dallas homeowners choose to do their own carpet cleaning, Dallas residents also prefer, in some cases, professional carpet cleaning. Dallas, in addition to being home to many retail stores also sell carpet cleaning, is home to a number of carpet cleaning company. In fact, in addition to Dallas carpet cleaning companies, there are also many cleaning companies or services that also offer carpet cleaning. The number of choices that you have, when choosing a Dallas carpet cleaning company, is one of the many benefits to seeking professional carpet cleaning assistance.

If you are limited on time, but your carpets still need to be cleaned, you may want to think about professional carpet cleaning. Dallas carpet cleaning companies are often equipped with better equipment; better equipment that tends to allow them to work faster. It is also not uncommon for Dallas carpet cleaning companies to have more than one employee do their cleaning. Multiple employees, with multiple cleaning machines, means that your carpet cleaning could be done in record time! In fact, if you are able to find a highly rated, recommended, and reputable Dallas carpet cleaning company, you might not even have to be physically present for the cleaning.

As you can see, there are a number of advantages to professional carpet cleaning. Dallas residents and business owners have been pleased with the majority of the results so far. Perhaps, the only downside to a professional carpet cleaning is the cost of doing so. However, it is possible to find a Dallas carpet cleaning company that charges reasonable rates. Should the job be done right, you may not need to have your carpets cleaned for an extended period of time. When you figure in the cost of a cleaning machine and the needed chemicals, you may be able to save money, long term, with a professional carpet cleaning. Dallas residents, a large number of them to be exact, have been pleased with the amounts of money they have been able to save.

Should I Use an Owner Operated Carpet Cleaning Company?

Should I Use an Owner Operated Carpet Cleaning Company?
Your satisfaction is crucial to the success of their new company and they will strive to accommodate your every need with honest prices. You will get more for your dollar and you will get a carpet cleaner that is truly dedicated to what they do. For them it more than just a job it is their future and they want you to remain a part of it.

Should I Use an Owner Operated Carpet Cleaning Company?
Should I Use an Owner Operated Carpet Cleaning Company?

This is a question that deserves some attention because it really hits home for me and many others. Let me start by telling you that no carpet cleaning company starts out with 10 trucks. Usually one guy or girl pours their heart and soul into a dream of business ownership with everything at stake, including the house they put up for a loan for new equipment. They do everything possible to satisfy every customer in hopes of referrals and repeat business. Their livelihood depends on making a good positive name for themselves.

Customer satisfaction is essential to the success of the new company, they look forward to all your needs an honest price. You will get more for your dollar and you will get a carpet cleaner that is truly dedicated to what they do. For them it more than just a job it is their future and they want you to remain a part of it.

Another thing to consider is that no one in their right mind is going to take a chance on starting a carpet cleaning company with out knowing the trade so you can rest assured that you will get quality service. Many of the new owners are not certified because of the high cost but you can be sure that most of them have far more experience than newly certified techs.

Many of them are certified and were most likely paid for by a company that employed them at some point. Regardless the chance they take is honorable and should be complemented as they will be the employers of future young men and women.

I will not ridicule a large company because they started the same way but they were also given the chance to prove themselves. The only downfall to using a large company is that you may get a rush job or a tech that works on commission and will try to sell you everything on the truck resulting in lower quality and higher cost. However that is not always the case. Their are many wonderful large companies out their.

Should you use an owner operated company? Yes, you will be helping him or her achieve an ambitious dream and lead him or her to training and hiring others which in turn gives a few more young men and women jobs. The company will need office staff, technicians, and managers. Give the little guy a chance. Chances are if you are not happy, he will put his head down and leave you with a no charge invoice. You have nothing to lose and have the opportunity to lock in a low price from here on out as a repeat customer.

Give them a chance. You may find a good honest carpet cleaner for life.

How To Clean Upholstery The Safe Way - For Professional Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning Companies

How To Clean Upholstery The Safe Way - For Professional Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning Companies
Unlike carpet cleaning, the care of upholstery can be tricky at the best of times and scary at the worst.

Many carpet cleaning companies will not clean upholstery unless it is of a man made fibre which has zero risk of colour bleed or pile damage. Others won't take the risk at all and decide to stay away from upholstery altogether!

However, if a few key factors are observed the cleaning of upholstery can be a simple and enjoyable task.

The first thing to remember is never to rely on the care label for advice. It is very common for upholstery to be mis-labelled with incorrect cleaning advice. Remember that upholstery retailers and manufacturers are not cleaning professionals!

There are very few fabrics which are not wet-cleanable but the main ones you are likely to come across are cotton velvet and silk.
All that is required to assess whether the fabric is wet-cleanable is to test an area and look for pile damage or colour bleed. Acrylic piles can be mistaken for cotton velvet however if the pile doesn't 'crush' or have the 'wet rat' look when tested, then it is ok to wet clean.
Flat weave cotton is perfectly ok to wet clean however it must be tested for colour bleed as the dyes are not always stable. Dyes which bleed may be stabilized with an acid rinse prior to extraction.

Now assuming the upholstery has been tested and is deemed suitable for wet cleaning, the first course of action is always to thoroughly vacuum the fabric. This will remove loose soil which is essential prior to cleaning.

Next, spray the upholstery with a dry solvent and rub it down carefully. This will help to dry of excess water after extraction and also remove any greasy soil.

Now use a good quality mild alkaline fabric cleaner and either rub over the fabric after spraying on or brush into the fabric if it is not delicate.

Leave to dwell for a few minutes and extract with a neutral rinse or just water. Be sure to use extra dry passes after spraying.

Lastly, spray finely with Dry solvent again. This will assist further in the evaporation of excess water.

Be sure to use air movers to further aid in the speedy drying of the upholstery.

When cleaning upholstery, most problems will usually arise due to over wetting and slow drying. It is extremely important to take measures which will ensure the sofa or chair being cleaned can dry as quickly as possible.
